Many uncontrollable factors resulted in canceling although, we believe he is an awesome talent. I'm sure he is aware all of us at PORRETTO BEACH, our advisers and public relations people worked hard to make it happen but factors in between made it impossible......We look forward to many successful shows next year!

The Event Turned OUT GREAT!!! 2000+ visited the Island. Except for an over abundance of late sign uppers everything was perfect!!! Next Year many, many improvements are being made to accommodate the Sand Crabbers!!!! Please come back next year; we all plan on working with Bill to create a better race with many, many, more perks .......................Thank you Chief Wiley, the GPD officers, EMS and GFD!!!!! A HUGE thanks goes out to those who support Porretto Beach and helping make this event happen despite a few Galveston Planning Dept. hindrances. If it weren't the Guzman crew for lights & power, Mike for the lifts and sails and Jennifer with Gainsborough we wouldn't have made it.

PORRETTO BEACHcustomers were troopers as the seaweed came in....we maintain only as necessary as our shoreline has always accreted. By not using front end loaders and bulldozers as the city and state do Porretto Beach attracts more wildlife, preserves more shoreline and mostly, is one of the only beaches that does not utilize the tax payers money despite, we cater to the public and the city and state obtain various funds they do not allocate to Porretto Beach.

THE WEATHER was great all week! Seen to the left, upcoming NFL stars showed their talents off all day on the beach...
Adults, teens, college breakers, the 'new and upcoming NFL players' all enjoyed the beach, weather, rentals and water...(Seen Below) Staff was working hard on the new concession yachts to be opened by May 1, 2010.
Our returning customers showed much excitement about the upcoming 2010 summer and the new attractions we're bringing to PORRETTO BEACH this year! PORRETTO BEACH is much cleaner after a Federal Court allowed us to clean and allow sand removal to other beaches, screening debris allowing sales to make necessary improvements. If Spring Break 2010 is any indication of what Summer 2010 is going to bring...WE ARE READY FOR YOU TO COME SEE US AND HAVE SOME FUN!!!!!

The privately owned historical, unique PORRETTO BEACHon Galveston Island, Texas was established in the 1950's and had been responsible for providing outstanding private beach service including, but not limited to, umbrella, chair, float, aqua bikes, parasailing, jet ski, volleyball and other water craft activity rental ever since. Our uniqueness of owning an accreting private beach is that we aren't as restricted in providing a full range of services to our loyal customers over the years. Our regular customers particularly value umbrella & chair side food and beverage service/delivery, customer service dedication, flexibility in accommodations without restricting too much use of the beach.
Despite what the State of Texas wants you believe that private beach front property owners are attempting to 'keep the public out of or off of" public beach we are and have been working every day to ensure your rights and use of the beaches as for 50 years. The Texas State General Land Office attempts to discourage or create laws against the uses we provide the public when they claim this land. By the state of Texas taking a vast majority of Gulf Coast Shorelines properties and claiming it's on behalf of the 'people' the 'public' contradicts our belief where there is no need to 'take' PORRETTO BEACH indicating they're acting on the publics behalf while restricting the publics use of or rights while they obtain their own monetary gain in grants or funds. We provide everything without burdening the government or milking the tax payer to assist us in providing the public a clean, safe recreational area on the shoreline of Porretto Beach.
PORRETTO BEACH is and always has been an accreting beach. The shoreline area of PORRETTO BEACH is our recreational area we have maintained, kept safe for the publics use and operated on for over 50 years therefore, the state can save the tax payers and federal government money and stop attempting to use PORRETTO BEACH as a way of obtaining more government funds. There is no need for the State to claim an accreting and maintained area to acquire more government funds.
PORRETTO BEACH always has and always will allow the public use of a recreational area. We'll continue to allow more unrestricted use and allow these rights to be exercised for our visitors. We encourage the public to visit us and allow us to let you personally experience the difference between a private owner welcoming you to a private beach as a welcomed guest rather than, a political official telling you what their opinion is versus what is actually happening on PORRETTO BEACH. We've been here for over 50 years and would hope to be here longer, politicians & political agendas will come and go.......
